The Anchor and the Glitch had existed for most of a year, first as Resonance of the Void (renamed in June 2025), then as a document, an EPUB, and a Scrivener project that was still being edited in May. On July 16 it became a production artifact.
What happened
- Jul 16: the complete Book One manuscript and its character artwork were added to the production repository. The scattered editing files were consolidated into a single v26 line. Publishing from the main branch was automated so the working copy and the published copy stop drifting apart.
- Jul 16–17: the character material was pulled out into editable cores. Kaelyn Mercer's core came first, then every Spine character chapter, with the persona packs folded back in, so one source feeds the book, the Archive, and the voices that later speak through it.
- Jul 17: the v0.4 build was documented.
- Jul 18: the working shelves and paid launch packs were refreshed, and a release shelf was added.
Why it matters
Everything that happened to Book One a week later depended on there being exactly one authoritative copy of it. That includes the private vault, ownership records, and signed download links.
