Before there was a CradlePoint Archive, a VeilDaemon, or a studio, there was a book called Resonance of the Void.
The front matter
The preserved beta manuscript still opens with two lines that date it:
Draft Version: June 2025 Original Project Inception: May 2024
The project started in May 2024. By June 2025 Book One existed as a full draft under its first title.
The week it changed names
- June 24, 2025: the title and series began their transition to The CradlePoint Archives: The Anchor and the Glitch.
- June 28: the old Resonance of the Void – Book 1 file was explicitly treated as the obsolete beta. It was kept, not deleted, but it was no longer the book.
- June 29: the CradlePoint Archives workspace was active, with Book One already in its records.
- July 2: a newer full CradlePoint manuscript was uploaded as the replacement. The same day, the VeilDaemon repository was created.
What carried over
The name changed. The vocabulary mostly did not. Resonance, echoes, and the Void survived into the book, the Frequencies, and the TTRPG built on top of it. The Scrivener project created that November still carried the old name, and the legacy Resonance of the Void material stayed in the archive: resonance threads, echo sites, and an ontology manual, all of which fed the system that came next.
Why it matters
The public record starts on May 16, 2026, but the Archive did not come from nowhere. It came from a book that had already been renamed once, two years into a project that was already older than anyone outside it knew.
